Sr Biotech Product Manager

My client is focused on developing instruments and assays, and they now seek a Sr Product Manager to support both software and instrumentation.  This person will be instrumental in driving innovation from conception through to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.    Lead cross-functional project teams that include R&D, engineering, marketing, and data science to translate technological innovations into viable products.
2.    Interface with customers and conduct market research to provide voice of customer to guide hardware and software development.
3.    Develop and execute marketing strategies, including defining the product's value proposition, customer segmentation, pricing strategy, and evidence-based marketing approaches.
4.    Craft and communicate a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and strategic goals.
5.    Ensure that the product's unique value proposition, key benefits, and competitive advantages are clearly communicated in marketing plans.
6.    Conduct a thorough market analysis to identify key growth drivers, market trends, and opportunities for competitive differentiation.
7.    Support the Sales and Commercial teams by developing sales materials, providing product training, and participating in sales enablement activities.

 

  

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • BS degree and strong background in product management and life sciences.
  • Understanding of product development processes, strategies, and methods.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to translate scientific advancements into marketable products.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise between scientific teams and the market audience.
  • Start-up mentality toward product management, ability to conduct routine documentation in addition to strategy.

 

 

Essential Experience:

 

  • Product management experience in the life sciences working with both hardware and software products.
  • Developing and managing software programs including user requirements creation and management.
  • Market analysis, strategic planning, and product lifecycle management

-- This is a hybrid role and the person must be based in the Rockville, MD area.

-- Compensation package includes base salary plus discretionary bonus (and exceptional benefits).

-- Title and salary are commensurate with experience.
